It seems like we only just finished with the craziness of 2020, yet the 2021 Super Bowl is right around the corner! We’ve had many people asking us if we will be providing flights to this year’s Super Bowl, and the answer is yes, we are!

Where to watch online: If you feel uncomfortable visiting the venue in person due to the danger of the pandemic, there are also ways to watch the event live online! The Super Bowl will be broadcasted live on CBS and live streamed on the CBS All Access app.

New Year's Eve - 2021

For many of us, it is a relief to finally call in the new year and to say goodbye to 2020. Not only has the COVID-19 pandemic spread across and affected how the entire world is run, but there were a plethora of other hurdles we had to overcome as well. Thankfully, a new year and a new beginning is finally within our grasp. Unfortunately, given the continuing circumstances with the pandemic, it makes it very hard to have any kind of regular New Year’s celebration. This blog post will hopefully give you some inspiration and good ideas to safely reign in the new year.

Times Square - New York

Times Square (New York) has long been one of the most famous venues for celebrating New Year’s Eve. Every year millions of people would converge together to commemorate the passing of another year and to celebrate the start of a new chapter. Just as you can’t stop time from ticking down to a new year, the famous New Year’s Eve Ball will also inevitably drop at midnight. The famous New Year’s Eve Ball has been dropping in Times Square for over one hundred years! This year, of course, things will be looking a little different. While Times Square itself will be closed off to the public, you can still watch and participate in the virtual viewing of the ball dropping at midnight! You can also head over to their website to watch a short video about the fascinating history of the Times Square Ball!

London - England

London has consistently been chosen as one of the most popular destinations to celebrate the New Year! This year London’s New Year’s Day Parade (LNYDP) is going virtual with their Welcome Back message to the World parade! Featuring an impressive display of performances from well known artists and community and cultural performance groups, you’re not going to want to miss this! You can watch this special parade live on their website, or if you’re at home in the USA you can even turn on your TV to tune into the festivities!

There are also a large amount of smaller virtual celebrations that you can find on websites such as eventbrite.com for free or just a small fee. Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate in style! Don’t be afraid to dress up, to declare your resolutions, to toast with champagne, to cater your dinner or prepare an impressive meal, and to make some noise to celebrate the end of a new year and the beginning of a fresh start!

If there is somewhere special in the world that you want to spend your New Year's Eve, flying there commercially is all but impossible in the current state of the world right now. However, we at Fly Largent can provide safe, sanitary, and luxurious private flights and transportation for you and your family. Contact us today for a free quote! From all of us here at Fly Largent, we want to wish you a very happy holiday and many blessings to you, your family, and your friends!

5 More Ways to Satisfy Your Wanderlust From Home.

Back in June we released a blog post titled “5 Ways To Fulfill Your Traveling Desires From Home” which listed various ways on how you could curb your wanderlust while we are all stuck in lockdown. However, the months have flown by and COVID-19 still seems to be coming at us in full force; further prolonging the various lockdowns across the entire world. It is important to stay motivated and hopeful for the future, and to look forward to the day where we can all travel freely again to anywhere in the world that we wish! Until then, here are 5 more ways you can satisfy your wanderlust from home.

Research Your Ancestry

Researching your family tree and discovering where you really came from can be an incredibly rewarding and fascinating experience. There are countless stories of people who researched their family tree and were incredibly surprised at what they found out! It’s natural for you to wonder about where you and your family came from and it can help deepen your roots with the country your ancestors called home. There is a pretty vast list of professional websites that you can choose from that will help you narrow down your search for your lineage and many of them are budget friendly. One of the most well known websites would be Ancestry.com which has billions of records and 99+ million family trees! Some other notable websites to check out would be Archives.com, Familysearch.org, Myheritage.com, and findmypast.com.

Visit A Virtual Museum

Scattered across the world are some of the most exquisite museums that most travel lovers have heard of - if not been to. Museums have often been considered an essential part to experiencing a new country and its history. They are filled with knowledge and rich history that will leave you with a new understanding and appreciation for art and the country as a whole. Museums are also great places to find inspiration. By seeing the extensive progress that our ancestors have made over hundreds of years, it can encourage and motivate us to further innovate and procure new ideas to better ourselves and the world around us! Even the famous Louvre has its own online tours that include some of its most important and popular exhibits. Some other notable museums with their own virtual tours include: The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The National Gallery of Art, and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

Watch Foreign TV Shows

The United States of America has been the forerunner of entertainment in the movie industry essentially since its conception; but in the last few years, other countries have really risen to the challenge and have produced some pretty incredible movies and TV shows. While the shows aren't necessarily depictive of the countries they are produced in, the language and cultural tastes definitely shine through. Some of the more popular shows include Money Heist (Spain), Fauda (Israel), 3% (Brazil), The Rain (Denmark), and Unorthodox (Germany). The majority of these can be found on Netflix.

Find An Internet Penpal From Another Country

The idea of “penpals” has been around ever since the 1930s and continues to this day. While back then it was slightly more complicated and also required you to deliver the paper mail to the post office, the 21st century has made all of this a little easier with the introduction to the internet. It’s actually a widely spread myth that the only people who use pen-pals are people of a younger age; there are people all over the world from all different walks of life and varying ages who are looking for someone across the world to form a bond and communicate with. Not only can you form friendships in this way, but you can also discover a lot about different cultures and countries that you’ve never been to.

Take A Cooking Class Or Have A Friendly Cookoff

In the previous blog post about different travel activities to do during lockdown, we mentioned about how you should teach yourself to cook a dish inspired by another country. This is such a fun way to learn about other cultures and lands that we wanted to expand on it a little. One possibility is to have an online cookoff with some of your friends where you each pick a category and country and then cook that dish to showcase your culinary skills! While teaching yourself can be fun, it can be even better if you find an actual online class and participate in a group activity (or a private class) led by a skilled chef. They can take you through all the steps to achieve an authentic dish that will make you feel like you’re eating the local food from your favorite vacation spot!

Hopefully this list has inspired you and motivated you to try something new and exciting! Be sure to check out our other various posts for other travel inspired recommendations. As always, we at Fly Largent are doing our very best to assist you and make sure your travel experience is as comfortable, luxurious, and worry free as possible. If you are looking for a private jet flight to fly you just about anywhere in the world, please contact us for a free quote! We would love to make your travel experience a good one.
