Many people ask “Why rent a cottage when I can just book a room at a resort?”, but there are a multitude of reasons why you might want to consider the cottage route instead! Renting a cabin or cottage is a great way to de-stress and get away from the hustle and bustle of life while maintaining a comfortable home to rest in. It’s a place where you can bring the whole family to make memories that will last you a lifetime; no matter your age! From children, to grandparents, to even your pets, a cottage is a welcoming place for everyone. It’s a place where you can tell stories around the campfire while you snack on your s’mores and take walks through the woods to hear the sounds of chirping birds and bustling squirrels. Listed below are some of the top countries we would recommend renting a cottage in!
Ontario - Canada
Canada has long since been known for having the perfect setting for cottage life. Every season of the year, tourists and locals alike make their way to their respective get-away homes to enjoy the calming and laid back experience of cottage life. Ontario in particular is one of the most beautiful and accessible areas to rent a cottage due to its close proximity with four out of the five Great Lakes (Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario). The peak season in Ontario for renting a cottage would be during the statutory holidays and also in the summer months - from June to late August. There are also benefits to visiting during the off-season as well, such as the volume of other people in the area will be lower so you will have more privacy. Regardless of what time of year you visit, Ontario’s beauty will never fail to impress you.
A less conventional alternative to the cottage hot-spot of Canada would be Northern Germany. The Baltic Sea Coast in particular is renowned for its beautiful coast which includes tranquil shallow waters, gorgeous sandy beaches, and a gentleness that will lure you in and convince you to want to stay. A benefit to finding a little cottage or beach house on the coast of the Baltic Sea is also its proximity to the charming town of Stralsund. Stralsund is a historic town filled with rich culture and lovely architecture that will surely provide long-lasting memories.
If a lake-house is more your style, Switzerland has most places beat. The combination of forestry, huge mountains, and crystal clear waters will rejuvenate you in ways you never knew you needed. Be sure to check out the surrounding lake-houses near Lake Oeschinen, Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. There are dozens upon dozens of gorgeous lake rentals here with breathtaking scenery. Sparkling aqua-coloured waters, snow-capped peaks, accompanied by the fresh scent of spruce trees will surely be just what you need to unwind and enjoy nature’s beauty.
Each and every one of these places is sure to leave you with amazing, long-lasting memories. If you are interested in getting to one (or all) of them in style, we would love to help get you there! We at Fly Largent are proud to offer you the highest quality and services when it comes to transport by air. For many of us, it is a relief to finally call in the new year and to say goodbye to 2020. Not only has the COVID-19 pandemic spread across and affected how the entire world is run, but there were a plethora of other hurdles we had to overcome as well. Thankfully, a new year and a new beginning is finally within our grasp. Unfortunately, given the continuing circumstances with the pandemic, it makes it very hard to have any kind of regular New Year’s celebration. This blog post will hopefully give you some inspiration and good ideas to safely reign in the new year.
Times Square - New York
Times Square (New York) has long been one of the most famous venues for celebrating New Year’s Eve. Every year millions of people would converge together to commemorate the passing of another year and to celebrate the start of a new chapter. Just as you can’t stop time from ticking down to a new year, the famous New Year’s Eve Ball will also inevitably drop at midnight. The famous New Year’s Eve Ball has been dropping in Times Square for over one hundred years! This year, of course, things will be looking a little different. While Times Square itself will be closed off to the public, you can still watch and participate in the virtual viewing of the ball dropping at midnight! You can also head over to their website to watch a short video about the fascinating history of the Times Square Ball!
London - England
London has consistently been chosen as one of the most popular destinations to celebrate the New Year! This year London’s New Year’s Day Parade (LNYDP) is going virtual with their Welcome Back message to the World parade! Featuring an impressive display of performances from well known artists and community and cultural performance groups, you’re not going to want to miss this! You can watch this special parade live on their website, or if you’re at home in the USA you can even turn on your TV to tune into the festivities!
There are also a large amount of smaller virtual celebrations that you can find on websites such as eventbrite.com for free or just a small fee. Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate in style! Don’t be afraid to dress up, to declare your resolutions, to toast with champagne, to cater your dinner or prepare an impressive meal, and to make some noise to celebrate the end of a new year and the beginning of a fresh start!
If there is somewhere special in the world that you want to spend your New Year's Eve, flying there commercially is all but impossible in the current state of the world right now. However, we at Fly Largent can provide safe, sanitary, and luxurious private flights and transportation for you and your family. Contact us today for a free quote! From all of us here at Fly Largent, we want to wish you a very happy holiday and many blessings to you, your family, and your friends!

Wintertime is soon to be set upon us and the cold winter chill is starting to blow in. As you curl up inside and sip your hot apple cider, you may start to wonder how COVID-19 is going to affect this holiday season. With most events being canceled or reduced and travel still being restricted in most countries, options feel pretty limited. However, not even COVID-19 can kill the Christmas spirit! There are numerous cities and towns scattered across the US that are notorious for putting on impressive displays of lights, good cheer, and holiday spirit while maintaining physical distancing and appropriate saftey measures. Though travel is restricted worldwide, it's still possible to travel within the US, and we at Fly Largent would love to help you this holiday season! Listed below are a couple of our recommendations on where you should visit this Christmas to experience the full beauty and wonder of the holidays.
If you find yourself in Tennessee this Christmas, prepare yourself to enjoy one of the best Christmas festivals in the state! Holiday Magic on Main is going to take to the streets this November 28th to December 31st and will be open to the public for free! Every year the town of Duluth puts on an impressive display of magical lights, festive wreaths, and joyous holiday cheer during their annual festival. This year, the Bentleyville: Tour of Lights is aiming to “bring people together while staying apart” to keep you safe. This year (2020) from November 21st to December 27th, they will have a drive-through tour through the lit up streets! Be sure to check out their impressive online gift shop that is full of high-quality merch and collectibles. Not even the pandemic is going to put a damper on this yuletide festival; for the residents of Duluth are united in committing to having a safe, yet fantastic, turn-out for the Tour of Lights. For only 10$(USD) a vehicle, this festival is really worth your time and money.
